Welcome to the second part of this blog, where we are trying to spread information on the various kinds of pregnancy. If you haven’t read the first part, we suggest you must read that too!
In the second part of this blog, we will look at another five kinds of pregnancy that many women experience.
Five Kinds of Pregnancies You Must Know!
#6. Multiple Pregnancies
This occurs when more than one embryo gets implanted in the uterus. Twin pregnancy is a fine example of multiple pregnancy where one fertilized egg by one sperm gets divided into two embryos. In such a case, two identical twins are born with the same genetic makeup.
However, twins are also a result of two eggs getting fertilized by two sperm and resulting in two embryos. Such twins are called fraternal twins, and they do not have the same genetic makeup.
Existing fertility treatments result in multiple fetuses.
#7. High-risk Pregnancy
High-risk pregnancy has a lot to do with the mother’s age and health risk factors. Women in their late 30s are prone to high-risk pregnancies and situations that can worsen it, including diabetes, multiple fetuses, and other health conditions affecting the overall pregnancy.
In all pregnancies requiring medication, it can be termed a high-risk pregnancy. Also, a history of complicated childbirth leads to high-risk pregnancy.
#8. Lupus Pregnancy
Lupus is an auto-immune disease, and women with lupus could experience a complicated pregnancy because the risk of developing preeclampsia is higher than ever.
For women diagnosed with lupus, you must plan a pregnancy, or else you could get a surprisingly complicated pregnancy. Lupus pregnancy is included in the list of high-risk pregnancies.
#9. Chemical Pregnancy
The loss of pregnancy right after the fertilized egg gets implanted into the uterus is called Chemical Pregnancy. It is a clinical term for loss of pregnancy.
The fertilized egg implanted into the uterus does not grow or develop. This loss happens before the ultrasound of the heartbeat is taken.
#10. Breech Pregnancy
A breech pregnancy is when the fetus’s head is placed on the top of the uterus. The feet of the fetus are at the bottom towards the cervix and birth canal.
In normal pregnancy, babies move towards the birth canal to prepare for birth. Depending on the fetus’s position, there are three kinds of Breech Pregnancies: Complete, Frank, and Incomplete (Footling Breech).
Twin, triplets, and other multiple pregnancies can also cause Breech pregnancy with an abnormal uterus shape, too little or too much amniotic fluid, and placenta previa affecting the fetus’s movement and other activities.
When you try digging a hole, you feel like digging it deeper, right? Pregnancy has so much insane information that could make you wonder and look for more. Did you ever know about these many kinds of pregnancies and if they could exist?
